Terrell Owens Says The Jets Are Desperate And Need Him

Terrell Owens is going to force his way onto the New York Jets whether they like it or not.

Now whether they reciprocate the love is a different story.

Sunday Terrell Owens took twitter to let the struggling New York Jets know he was available and had a soft spot for them.

Pro Football Talk via TSN is reporting that Owens let his feeling about the Jets be known again.

“The fact that the Jets are using cornerback Antonio Cromartie at wide receiver shows that they’re desperate, and they need an experienced receiver like me.”

“I’ve read a lot of tweets and everybody’s saying that I’m desperate, I’m begging for a job,” Owens said. “But it’s not begging for a job when you know you can still play at a high level, given the opportunity. When you have a defensive back playing offense and running routes, then I think that’s more desperate than my actual tweet itself.”

Owens thinks the Jets aren’t reciprocating the love because they deem him a distraction based of his lovely reputation.

Terrell for his part disputes that.

“That’s definitely a part of it,” Owens said. “I’ve matured. There’s things I’ve done in my career that I can honestly say were said and done out of immaturity.”

I’m not sure what the Jets issue is. Imagine the circus turning down a popular clown act or high wire act.

Terrell Owens Cut By Seahawks

The T.O. era in Seattle was shorted lived.

ESPN.com is reporting that the Seattle Seahawks have decided to cut wide receiver Terrell Owens in order to help trim their roster from 90 to 75 by Monday at 4p.m.

Owens himself let the media and world know himself via twitter.

“I’m no longer a Seahawk. I THANK the organization 4 the opportunity, I’m truly blessed beyond belief. My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver,” he wrote.

Owens had been out the league since 2010 and surprising got a shot with the Seahawks after an impressive workout.

The mercurial wideout didn’t have many bright moments during the preseason in Seattle.

He’ll probably be most remember for his drop of a Matt Flynn 46 yard bomb that would have been a touchdown.

Even on that play he displayed that amazing athletic ability, only to be let down by those hands.

The future for Owens is bleak at this point.  We can only wonder at this point if any team will take a fly on a 38-year-old wide receiver with a penchant for whining and mood swings.

Seahawks Sign Terrell Owens

The man, the myth, and the legend named Terrell Owens is back.

In a surprising move that shocked many around the NFL landscape, ESPN.com reported that the Seattle Seahawks signed wide receiver Terrell Owens to a one year $1 million deal.

Owens worked out for the Seahawks Sunday and at the ripe age of 38 reportedly blazed a 4.5 40 yard dash.

Owens was extremely thankful Monday night and expressed himself via twitter.

“God is good. Thankful. Grateful. To ALL my new teammates & the “12th Man”… Let’s Do This!!

The 38-year-old Owens sat at all of last season with a knee injury and was not offered any deals or workouts prior to Pete Carroll and the Seahawks giving him a call.

It will be interesting to see how the professed quarterback killer will mesh with either Matt Flynn or Tavaris Jackson.

Dwight Freeney Working With The Feds!

When I see a lead story on  a sports news outlet featuring another athlete scammed or duped out of significant amounts of cash, I immediately try to play the whole scenario out in my mind.  Star athlete meets shady character who claims they can invest and turn that bit of cash into a fortune.   Shady character says hey let me be your financial advisor.   Watch that money for you.  Lazy educated athlete say sure I’m to busy to count all this money anyway.

Yes I know that surely is not how fraud and Ponzi take place.  You get my point tho.

Recently Indianapolis Colts star defensive end Dwight Freeney joined that list of millionaire star athletes who have had shady characters robbed  them of some of their fortune.

A couple posing as financial advisors recently bilked Dwight Freeney for more than $2.2 million dollars in phony wire transfers for almost a year beginning in May 2010.

According to federal documents obtained by TMZ Eva D. Weinberg and Michael A. Stern were arrested after an investigation found that the two lovers used Freeney’s cash to buy expensive sunglasses, stay in luxury suites, and were planning to buy their own private plane for $1.5 million.  I’m not sure how big that plane would have been.

I am not rich can’t relate at all to Dwight Freeney, Terrell Owens or any other high-profile athlete who has had their money just develop feet and walk away.  I can say that “In My Opinion” no college educated athlete should need nor trust two people they hardly know to control several of their bank accounts.

Come on Dwight!
